Humanity depends on the strengths of the individual to commit to humanitarian acts of love and social intelligence. My father in law was the last surviving Spanish Civil War Veteran in Canada who fought against Franco and the Fascists. Using dance as a form of protest and resilience, my new work “What belongs to us”, contemplates on freedom, and questions what it is to be human, -what connects and separates us; what is shared and resisted.
