Yasmin Afschar (b. 1985 in Teheran/IR) is an art historian, curator and writer based in Zurich, Switzerland. She is currently working on a range of exhibition-, publication- and public-art-projects in the realm of contemporary art, and as the co-organizer of LE FOYER – IN PROCESS, a nomadic talk platform focusing on artistic processes. Previously, she was a curator at the Aargauer Kunsthaus in Aarau, Switzerland, where she organized exhibitions such as Emma Kunz Cosmos. A Visionary in Dialogue with Contemporary Art (2021) or solo exhibitions with Denise Bertschi, Cédric Eisenring and Marie Matusz, among others. She is the editor of several publications, including Emma Kunz Cosmos (2021) and Denise Bertschi. Strata. Mining Silence (2020). Her own writings and research on art and art history have also been published in a wide range of books and magazines. In 2020, she was a guest lecturer at the Zurich University of Art. As the winner of the first Young Curator Residency program of Asia Society Switzerland, she will spend three months as curator-in-residence at Tai Kwun Contemporary in Hongkong in autumn 2021.
