Yen Noh (1983, South Korea) often engages with intimate histories of trauma, upheaval, and freedom during Japan’s occupation of Korea and its ongoing (post)colonial impositions. She uses performance as a way to reactivate and exercise radical practices by those whose history is unthought and unqueered by the official history (of art). Her research and performance practice, which is manifested as speech/writing acts, sound, collective walk, and collaborative craft, is concerned with linguistic and ritual possibilities as a means to resist signification and forms of representation. She studied at Dutch Art Institute and currently lives and works in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
