Ainize Sarasola is a filmmaker and artist. She has made 3 short films, one of them being Tarot Night selected at the Portland Underground film festival in 2017. The following year her first feature film Killing Time (2018) was released. Her cinematographic work is developed in the field of underground cinema.
As an artist she works in the mediums of drawing, painting, comics, collage and experimental video. In her artistic career she has received different scholarships and awards such as the creation aid given by the Monte Hermoso Cultural Center, or the Basque Government subsidies for the promotion and development of activities in the area of Plastic and Visual Arts, among others. She has been holding exhibitions since 2009, both group and individual, the most recent being the individual exhibition Ultraviolence in 2022, which she held within the Egile program of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council. In 2023, together with other authors, she published the comic book Dating Advices for young ladies. Since 2019 she has been working on a project called videoblog. Videoblog is a kind of diary that extends over time. In this project she brings together videos made with images of her daily life that you mix with narrative stories and sound.
Currently, she is developing her second feature film, ROSA Y VIOLETA, within the NOKA Mentoring program.
