Álvaro Fierro is a researcher at Cultumetría S.L. and Doctoral candidate of Economics with a Thesis on "Quantitative Methods for Measuring the Brand Image of Cities through the Web 2.0". He holds a degree in Economics, specialising in International Economics and Development by the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, and a Master’s Degree in Economic Integration with an Advanced Studies Diploma (2010). Supplementary training in seminars of the Department of Applied Economics V (UPV/EHU) and research fellowship at the University of Leicester (England).
He is an author and arbitrator of academic publications, and has carried out projects related to Brand Audits in the field of tourism, culture and other social sciences, and has also analysed the economic and social impact of culture through the field of Cultumetrics, which has been established as a company since August 2016 (Cultumetría). He collaborates with specialised music magazines (Ruta 66, Mondo Sonoro) and is the co-director and co-writer of the documentaries 160 Metros: Una Historia del Rock en Bizkaia y Atrapados por la Serpiente. (160 Meters: A History of Rock in Bizkaia and Trapped by the Snake).
