The regulatory nature of architecture tends to raise suspicion. Nearly all contemporary descriptions of the architectural phenomenon, from Foucault's studies of the discipline’s devices (the panoptic, the barracks, the psychiatric hospital, the convent) to visions of the city from the perspective of gender studies, postcolonial theory and visual studies, tend to define architecture in terms of the practice of subjugation.

It might seem paradoxical, then to ascribe a function of resistance to the discipline. In this conference will stress the possibilities that can be opened up by a determination to inhabit this paradox.

Descripción Corta

Architectural work generally raises a wall of suspicions regarding its regulatory nature. During these lecture, we will focus on the possibilities that open up thanks to the dedicated will to embrace this paradox.
