Érik Bullot is a filmmaker and theorist. He studied at the National School of Photography in Arles and at the IDHEC film school in Paris. His films have been screened at numerous festivals and museums. A monograph, with a DVD, has been published on his film work with a text by Jacques Aumont in 2003 (Editions Léo Scheer). He has published several essays on cinema: Sayat Nova (Yellow Now, 2007); Renversements 1 & 2 (Paris Expérimental, 2009 and 2013); Sortir du cinéma (Mamco, 2013), Le Film et son double (Mamco, 2017), Roussel et le cinéma (Nouvelles Éditions Place, 2020), Cinéma Roussel (Yellow Now, 2021) and in Spanish El cine es una invención post-mortem (Shangrila, 2015), Fotogenias y paradojas (UNTREF, 2018), Salir del cine (Shangrila, 2020) and Cine de lo posible (Metales pesados/La Fuga, 2021). He also collaborates with Trafic magazine. He was a visiting professor at New York University at Buffalo (2009-2011) and at the Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas de Buenos Aires (2013). He teaches film at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Bourges (France).
