José Miguel de Prada Poole: Scaled model of the project for the Seville ice skating rink (Hielotrón), 1973.

Since his first projects, José Miguel de Prada Poole (Valladolid 1938 - Madrid 2021) approached architecture as a predictive labour in contrast to an increasingly liquid and unstable reality.

Through some of his most paradigmatic projects, we will revisit different perspectives of future that were constants in his work, sometimes becoming “fictional architecture” in which design speculated rationally on scientific, technical, and social advances. We will also deal with energy and aspects of sound, touch, and smell that were frequent ingredients in his projects, explicitly addressing concepts connected to an experience he himself called ‘sensory-sensitive’.

These sessions fall within the Zin Ex. Body and Architecture exhibition’s programme of activities.

Descripción Corta

Through some of his most paradigmatic projects, we will revisit different perspectives of future that were constants in his work, sometimes becoming “fictional architecture” in which design speculated rationally on scientific, technical, and social advances.
