How does artificial intelligence algorithms fail to capture the diversity and complexity of the human body? Can these failures be perceived as forms of 'artificial ignorance'? What are the implications of this ignorance in terms of representation, identity, and power?

"Generative Adversarial Nuisance" is a series of video performances that critically interrogates the interaction between the human body and Artificial Intelligence through the lens of Computer Vision algorithms. This project delves into the disturbing ways these technologies, often perceived as neutral tools for interpreting and categorizing human identity, perpetuate deep-rooted race and gender biases, reflecting and reinforcing global inequalities. Each video in the series is structured around a binary juxtaposition of "Human + Computational" components. On one side, the input: unfiltered videos of human expressions, gestures, and movements. On the otherside, the output: AI's algorithmic interpretation, distorted by biases and reductive stereotypes. By placing these two video components side by side, the artwork exposes the reductive simplicity with which AI systems attempt to define and constrain the richness of human complexity.

This series of videos reclaim and redefine the concept of "GAN" (Generative Adversarial Network) to make a critical commentary on the biases inherent in these systems, turning the technology's supposed "intelligence" into a "nuisance" that disrupts and distorts reality rather than enhancing it. Through this project, "Generative Adversarial Nuisance" seeks to ignite a conversation about the ethical dimensions of AI and the urgent need for a more inclusive and equitable technological future. "Generative Adversarial Nuisance" uses humor and provocation to dissect and critique the abusive dynamics of generative AI, revealing its ethical implications and the exploitative frameworks that often sustain technological progress. With a queer decolonial perspective, the series challenges the notion of AI as a forward-looking innovation, instead exposing it as a tool that, under the guise of objectivity, enforces oppressive norms and perpetuates existing power structures.
