The working group to create open educational material is working on game-based learning. The group aims to investigate the options offered by board games and create material for use in the classroom.
This being the context, the workshop will be aimed particularly at teachers. We will learn about the process of creating a board game, from the initial idea right up to actually playing the game. We will review some of the most common mechanics of modern board games and discuss which features we should include and which to avoid in our prototypes.
And we will do all of this by playing, of course, since playing games is a very effective learning tool.
