Maria Jerez (Madrid, 1978)
His work is situated in the “art” of choreography, cinema and visual arts. Regardless of the interest in the theatrical and cinematographic conventions in the first pieces and the implicit understanding of the viewer, in the last works he intends to question this relationship, finding what he considers strange and strange, establishing blurry borders between the known and the unknown, the object and the subject, organic and artificial, animated and inanimate. It tries to flee from logical logics and anthropocenic logics in which human knowledge itself becomes weak in the face of other enigmatic and complex ecosystems.
María Jerez combines the production of her artistic work with pedagogical, academic and editorial projects.
