Miriam Isasi holds a doctorate in Fine Arts from the EHU/UPV (University of the Basque Country) and the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). She has participated in various residency programmes at the Spanish Academy in Rome (Italy), Artista x Artista (Cuba), the Fundación Bilbaoarte, the Kunsthaus in Bregenz (Austria), EAS-EZE Bitamine Faktoria (Irún-Buenos Aires), the MA Studio in Beijing (China), the Nekatoenea in Hendaye (France), the Centre of Art and Nature in Farrera (Spain) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. From a contemporary position, she generates a discourse that is shaped through subtle nods to anthropology, history, activism, alchemy, landscape and memory. She has participated in various exhibitions in the ARTIUM Contemporary Art Centre, the Spanish Academy in Rome, the San Fernando Academy, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Fine Arts Museum in Bilbao, Sala Rekalde, MUSAC (Contemporary Art Museum of Castilla y León), the HUARTE Contemporary Art Centre, the CAB (Contemporary Art Centre of Burgos), the Fundación BilbaoArte, the Azkuna Zentroa Alhóndiga in Bilbao, the San Telmo Museum, the Cultural Montehermoso in Vitoria-Gasteiz and La Panera Art Centre in Lleida, amongst others. She is currently working with Talka Galería on the production and visualisation of some of her latest projects.
