The starting point of Change in Nature is my arrival in the Basque Country in September 2015. It is a diachronic work, formed out of a change in habitat. My move from Tehran, a metropolis with a population of over 12 million, to Astigarreta, a hamlet of no more than 20 inhabitants, brought a radical change at all levels of the senses. The consequences of changing my environment are therefore reflected in my work.
After a year living here and seeing that my working materials have changed, I have tried to be permeable to the environment and work with it. After examining the ways in which nature fixes and transforms itself, the way in which experience adheres to the image and receives it, I have a series of reflections and outcomes with which I want to work.
During the residency I plan to develop some of the works I have begun this year at a different scale and trying out new techniques, with the perspective that distance provides, in order to try to reach some formal conclusions.
