Raquel Rodrigo was born in Valencia in 1984 and studied Fine Arts and Commercial Interior Design and Window Dressing. Her work is characterised by the constant search for ways to unite art and design, tradition and contemporaneity, craftsmanship and industrial methods.

Cross-stitch embroidery is a traditional embroidery technique, an international, feminine and invisible art that has decorated homes throughout history.

With Arquicostura she aims to create a discourse between the public and the private, and bring the cross stitch – a second skin that is embedded in buildings, plots and even non-places – out into the street. In this way she wants to create a personal relationship for the viewers with their own history, their home, their family, their mothers and grandmothers, all the stories told and to tell.
