Harkaitz Martinez de San Vicente and Mikel Ugarte are the protagonists of the Oreka TX txalaparta duo.

Starting with the ttakun sound of a single vintage plank, this duo started a journey years ago to find new materials and sounds; the group was able to bring their humble set of 4 rods to thousands of places around the world. OREKA, or BALANCE, is an essential component when it comes to understanding the duo’s work and ways; balance between tradition and contemporaneity; between force and tenderness; the way of working on relationships between the individual and other people... Always in balance.

Oreka TX has made records with various artists, and has taken part in live collaborations. They have collaborated with top professionals such as Phil Cunningan, Ara Malikian, Manu Dibango, Aziza Brahim, Motoko Hirayama, Silvia Iriondo, Carlos Nuñez, the Rai National Symphony Orchestra, Hakon Kornstad, and many others. Likewise, during this time, these collaborations have also served as a way to mix different types of music together with other disciplines. The duo has been attracted to many creative disciplines, such as dance, circus, audiovisual arts, rural sport, and 
many more.
