Discoteca Flaming Star (DFS) is an interdisciplinary collaborative art group that works with songs and other forms of expression as a way to personally respond to historical, social and political events. One of the figures that populate the spaces created by DFS is Ingrid. In part she relates to the deceased B movie actress Ingrid Rabel (Maria Teresa Gómez Gutierrez, 1945–2002) and the roles she performed, weaved with fictitious extensions DFS keeps adding to her life and work. For DFS, Ingrid is an exemplary character, an exemplary figure, an exemplary life: she was born under the dictatorship of Franco, assumed a German stage name, died of cancer. She was addicted to slot-machines and alcohol, and she was unsuccessful. This installation combines existing elements like Ingrid (2003 – so far), a film in continuous progress, with a newly produced walk-in-fanzine which reflects the shifting corporealities and infrastructures of care in pandemic times.
