Descripción Larga

An online exhibition curated by Jaime de los Ríos that explores trans-museum formats on the Internet based on the concept of connection, collective participation and telepresence. Digital windows, usually in the form of smart devices, mobile phones, TVs and computer screens, serve as two-way communication devices and can be occupied by art, decolonising our screens from the information overload and directed leisure. With these new media, interfaces and doors to a digitised world, artists have seen an increase in their ability to communicate, in addition to the possibility of working with the medium-tool-concept that is their subject of study. The materiality of the Internet, the roles of social media, intimacy, scientific popular beliefs and gender identity come to life in the different landscapes that emerge in a day-to-day existence conditioned by connectivity. Five artistic proposals are presented, several of them new creations and others acquiring new meanings through a contemporary rereading as a result of the exceptional circumstances in which we are living.
