Descripción Larga

The title of this work comes from the following words by Nick Land: life, any terrestrial process, is still only a momentary stoppage of the solar flow. If the destination of solar energy is total waste, death is its only end, and life, resistance to that waste.

Throughout the history of art, we find different manifestations of this resistance and we have created objects that try to overcome the transience of matter. The stone or the camera, for example, are devices that we have used to interrupt this continuous change, or at least to simulate its interruption. The act of creation has often sought to petrify the living and point out what is important at a particular time or condense a specific moment.

Right now, I'm thinking about a way of working that doesn't seek to create durable objects. This question has caused my latest works to exchange the concrete character of the object for the phenomenological quality of light. Light is a form of immaterial radiation that floods a space while at the same time depending on it; it has an ambient character and makes it possible for something to become visible or invisible. Its phenomenal quality has led me to investigate the instability of the visible and to become interested in the work of art as a temporary and transitory form.
