Debris Stevenson

A hybrid-playwright, dyslexic educator, Grime-poet, queer ex-Mormon and pro-raver. Debris work explores the intersectional, unexpected, and unjust.

Debris has worked in over 30 countries, raised over £300,000 with her company The Mouthy Poets, designed academic poetry modules and her Grime musical, Poet in da Corner (Royal Court) toured nationally in 2020. Debris had her screen acting debut in MEDUSA DELUXE (BFI, BBC) at Locarno Film Festival in 2022.

Debris is currently developing several TV shows, a play for Hightide Theatre and her debut poetry collection. When Debris’ not writing she can be found dancing at carnivals, parties and prides around the world.
