Irma Vilà i Òdena is a curator, researcher, and cultural producer specialised in new media art. Rooted in science and engineering yet vitally connected to the creative praxis and cultural research, Irma Vilà orchestrates and takes part in international projects that are hybrids of research in art, science, and culture.
Irma is part of the creative fabric through collaboration with collectives and institutions such as Luthiers Drapaires, Telenoika, and the CCCB, the ArtFutura festival and Arts Santa Mònica, among others. Vilà is Deputy Director and on the artistic committee of ISEA2022 Barcelona; curator and advisor for NEO -the Cosmocaixa art, science, technology, and society programme-; the Art and Science programme of the 1st and 2nd Barcelona Science Biennial (2019 and 2021) and the Ars Electronica Garden Barcelona (2020 and 2021).
Irma is also a professor for the Art, Multimedia, and Digital Creations and Design Degree at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), and co-director of the magazine Mosaic.
