Zabaltegi Tabakalera is the San Sebastián International Film Festival's (SSIFF) most open competitive section. Here, there are no rules or limitations in terms of style and time: short, medium-length, feature-length, fiction, non-fiction, animation, series, audio-visual installations, male and female authors, future discoveries and contemporary classics.

Here, there are no rules or limitations in terms of style and time: short, medium-length, feature-length, fiction, non-fiction, animation, series, audio-visual installations, male and female authors, future discoveries and contemporary classics. This is a truly open cinematographic realm that seeks to find new forms.
For the third consecutive year, we will dedicate the autumn to expanding upon this section of the SSIFF. For three months, we will review and discover the previous work of some of the directors who are present in the section. We will do this because the film festival is not just during the 10 days that it lasts; it also comprises everything that goes on before and after that on the big screen. It doesn't end.
