With 2SLEEP1, Raquel Meyers addresses human overexploitation, production systems and the demands of the market. This audiovisual piece, in collaboration with the Swedish musician Goto80, has the sole purpose of putting the spectator to sleep, something totally opposed to what capitalism desires at its core: for the human to be operating 24/7 until he or she collapses. The artist uses technology to challenge the hegemonic systems of a society that is partly sustained by technology itself.
