Created ad hoc for the building’s main staircase, this sound piece draws from a situation experienced by the artist herself towards the back of the stairs, and the impact that it produced. A snippet of life contemplated from inside the Centre for Contemporary Culture is nothing more than a starting point that sparks the flame of reflection on more broad-reaching themes: the triangulation between reality, artistic representation, and our perspective are at the heart of this piece. It speaks to the relationship between close and far, to the influence between them or lack thereof, by means of thoughts that are heard through speakers installed next to the stairs.
In an installation comprised of lyrics and sounds, “Bizitza happening” brings together different layers. In addition to sound, the installation is made up of various written texts that can be read on the walls surrounding the stairs.
Sound artist and producer Xabier Erkizia, assisted with the technical aspect of the work, particularly with its recording and editing.
