This course proposes an approach to contemporary art that is not aimed to interpellate the artwork directly: what it is or what it represents. It is more about looking around it, getting closer to the context in which it is created. Every month we invite a person to host a session related to the Tabakalera contemporary art exhibition, in order to generate a collective toolbox that delves into the contents of the exhibitions and activates new ideas and debates around art.
If there is something typical of works of art, it is that they are untranslatable. But at the same time we are sure that through them we can get to understand many of the mechanisms of our society. We are interested in challenging the phrase ‘I do not understand art’ in order to build a new space in which everyone's knowledge can operate. Let's get the machine started.
