Itxaro Borda

Born in Baiona in 1959. She holds a degree in History and worked as a mail carrier until she retired two years ago. She began writing in her youth, participated in the creation of the magazine Maiatz and in 2002 won the Euskadi literature prize for the novel 100% Basque. She nailed the character of the lesbian detective Amaia Ezpeldoi. In 2022 she published the poetry collection Uhartearen mugetan in the publishing house Maiatz and in 2024 Itzalen tektonika in Susa. She has written lyrics for Basque singers and has participated in numerous collective writing projects.
