Descripción Larga

The main goal of Tabakalera’s International Film Seminar is to reflect on the intersection between cinema and contemporary art. The starting point is always the summer exhibition in Tabakalera and the proposal consists of sharing three days with artists and filmmakers who, based on different proposals and activities, will complete the experience linked to the moving image.

This year the exhibition Vive le cinéma! will be used as the starting point for the Seminar. Four film directors have responded to the invitation to make a piece for an exhibition room instead of for a cinema. The filmmakers are Dea Kulumbegashvili, Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese, Isaki Lacuesta and Jia Zhang-ke.

Kulumbegashvili and Lacuesta will attend the seminar. In addition to them, Rabih Mroué, Alex Reynolds, Maddi Barber and Mirari Echávarri will also take part. Based on the interventions by the guests we will reflect on space and time, the audience’s experience and the limits of the screen, as well as on the language itself of cinematography.

To participate in the seminar, prior registration is required. It is free and does not include meals. However, we propose to generate a meeting that allows sharing inside and outside the room, so there is also the possibility of having lunch at Tabakalera during the three days of the seminar. You can register at zinema@tabakalera.eus. The price of meals for the three days is €50.

To attend the two screenings that will take place at the Tabakalera cinema during the seminar, it will be necessary to purchase the usual ticket (€4).

The detailed programme of screenings and activities will be published soon.
