IMMATERIAL is an experimental meeting around the current paradigm mediated by the reality of the digital.

The pandemic experience has brought to everyday life a relational scenario previously reserved, a priori, for people with certain interests and/or specific profiles, such as gamers, certain age groups or specific subcultures. The ludification of society and the logics of visual culture, increasingly more habitually question us in codes and languages close to or derived from the video game and lead us to digital spaces or territories that propose virtuality as an immaterial and real place (at the same time).

IMMATERIAL proposes an encounter around the virtual space and the logics it propitiates. The avatar, self-representation, the fact of inhabiting or the ways of conceiving bodies in the digital. This proposal is based on a virtual stage, a Tabakalera façade from which we will share collective modes of political, poetic and artistic construction. For this purpose, complicities have been woven with a network of agents whose trajectories converge in the design and management of this meeting.

17:30. NFTs, crypto art and the blockchain revolution. Dive for cover! -- Xabi Abel - Zeda -- Spanish/Basque -- Streaming

Experimental presentation that will talk about the phenomenon of the NFT or non-fungible token, a non-fungible asset that makes it possible to record items such as works of art or collectible digital pieces in a blockchain. The talk will introduce the phenomenon and its relationship with digital art, the techniques and platforms where it is currently used most and its possible future applications.

19:00 “Inaugural assault” - participatory performance -- Pablo Martínez Garrido -- Spanish -- Streaming

We will get to know the Tabakalera virtual space and will inhabit the centre’s new dimension.

2 June

12:00. Orákulo -- Human virtual codes --

Experimental dynamic based on futurologist artificial intelligences.

17:00. IMMATERIAL TV Cycle of online screenings

17:30. Robots that play. Art, artificial intelligence and play -- Mónica Rikić + Luca Carrubba -- Spanish -- Streaming

Can video games help us to think about human relationships from a liberating point of view? Could robots have fun playing video games? Can we imagine new types of social relations based on the use of autonomous machines? The work of new media artist Mónica Rikić is the basis for a reflection on the relationship between robotics, video-gamified reality and the new perception of space and time in the wake of the pandemic. This conversation explores the points of intersection between art, new media and play and the fractures in the artistic process involved.

19:00. Dematerialisation of our time, work and movement in the digital metaphor. I click my fingers and appear at your side -- Ontologías Feministas + Azahara Cerezo + Liminal Bits -- Spanish -- Streaming

In this conversation we will go through the policies that hide, sweeten and idealise Digital Labour. Like servers burning out of control, instead of resting we will explore the 24/7 loop of cognitive work, virtual personal assistants, data choreography, time shaping, digital nomads and the

3 June

12.00. Topiak. The future is not what it was. (Presentation) -- Ane Rodriguez + Ane Abarrategi -- Spanish+Basque --Streaming

Official versions of the future simplify the complex and provide certainties rather than open questions about the possible forces that will shape it. But the narratives of the future that we recount to ourselves can be a barrier to change. Topiak is a speculative group whose purpose is to explore the disruptive and collaborative capacity of different futures; prototype futures to influence the present. In this talk we will learn about the group’s work process and some of the results it has produced.

13:00. Topiak. The future is not what it was. -- Ane Rodriguez + Ane Abarrategi -- Spanish+Basque --Face-to-face workshop in Room Z (Registration is needed)

In this workshop we want to work with and speculate about other types of story, moving away from linear constructions and dystopian and utopian images. We will imagine broken, imperfect, and mundane futures, where the everyday and the dirty are also present.

17:00. IMMATERIAL TV. Cycle of online screenings

17:30. Going beyond bodies and gender in techno-political visibilities -- Ontologías Feministas + Xeito + blanca arias -- Streaming

In her Glitch Feminism, Legacy Russell says that “through the digital, we make new worlds and dare to modify ours” and that it is also in the digital where the “the body ‘in glitch’ finds its genesis”, demonstrating how we can use it as a path to follow in this conversation. Together with the artists Blanca Arias and Xeito Fole and guided by Ontologías Feministas, we will explore every possible crevice in order to address a techno-diversity represented in vague, blurred, soft or sharp images and subjects like unexpected failure. If we want to build new technical cosmologies, we need new bodies and individuations that go beyond the codes of the flesh and the socio-cultural machine, a flawed representation of many of our digital metaphors. With a click of our fingers, we materialise and move again.

 4 June

12:00. Welcome to CCT. Short course on consolation, comfort and triggers. About how the neoliberal regime stole the idea of sensory aesthetics in our digital sphere -- Ontologías Feministas -- Spanish -- Streaming

In this course you will be able to learn in simple and easy steps the basic strategies to confront this prevailing sensory aesthetic focused on a new market niche: wellness capitalism. Through online phenomena such as Satisfying Videos, ASMR or cooking in remote places, neoliberal rhetoric has succeeded in depoliticising stress or anxiety. At Ontologías Feministas we promote the use of self-defence strategies and the need for the presence of nausea in the digital world to counter the Pantone pastel.

Ontologías Feministas guarantees you completely superficial satisfaction and rewards when you complete each level of the course.
