Descripción Larga

I think of a tiger. A sparkling fire. A lion. A labyrinth. The origin of stories. How Argentinian cinema became in the late 90’s a place where stories, images and sounds took a new form. How that new cinema amazed film festivals around the world, in the same way as a tiger, a fire, a lion looking at the camera could amaze us.

Now, the primary question: Where did all this come from?

There is never one unique door, there are a lot, as Borges described labyrinths. And one of the main windows to the new Argentinian cinema, to its origin and expansion, was and still is the Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires, founded in 1991 by Manuel Antín.

Reviewing the names of the ones that were in those classrooms, we get a catalogue of essential directors of the history of cinema of our time.
